Hall Mark Survey with BIS

On November 9, 2023, we took a tour to Dist.Angul with the massage "May All Be Happy, May All Be Free from Illness." Before I describe this awesome job , I'd like to introduce the readers to another important topic. The most valuable point is ‘Odisha Calling Foundation’ has given me this opportunity for which I will remain indebted forever. An ‘Road Safety Activist’ and volunteering for B.I.S.(Bureau of Indian Standard) in a parallel vertical wasn’t a easy job though in the beginning . Proper guidance of Mr. Rakesh Singh and Mr. Debu Nayak's gave me positive lots of encouragement in completing the tasks. This has taken me a to a new height with lots of knowledge, experience and great self confidence too. About the Angul tour; it is about the survey of Indian Standards with Hallmark. We can say primarily, when common people purchase gold articles from jewellery shops, they have no idea about purity or quality, so they are cheated. We ask few questions to the public about Hallmark, HUID and inform them about the BIS Care application. Secondarily, for those jewellery shops registered with BIS, we approach them to inform their customers about the BIS Care application. Many jewellery shop owners says, theirs sales have increased by selling HUID jewellery. By selling HUID jewellery they become more favourable to customers. Lastly, for those jewellery shops are not registered with BIS, were convinced to be registered with BIS and aware them about the BIS Care application.

SENSITIZATION PROGRAMMES FOR PANCHAYAT SAMITI

As we know Panchayats are the grass root level institution created under the constitution of the country for the development of the rural areas in the country. Government schemes and projects are also implemented by the heads of Panchayats . As a result, it is crucial that all development projects be of high quality and ensures the safety of the people. So BIS the national standard body of our country aware the heads of the panchayat about basics of standards. In our first attempt we have completed sensitization programmers at nearly 350 Panchayat Samitis of all the districts of Odisha. Through this sensitization programme all the audience learned about the use of the BIS care mobile application and verify all the products they use in their regular life so that they can make sure that they are using a safe product. This is the main objective of our programme.
